Ceramic Panels of Calle Petritxol
A block from Las Ramblas, from the streets of Portaferrisa in the side of the square of PI is very little pedestrian street Petritxol (on the map). According to locals, this is one of the most charming streets of the old town.
The street, which is 129 meters long and just over three meters wide, is full of shops, many of which have a rich history, as well as famous chocolate cafes. The street itself is about 500 years old, named after the owner of a house on Portaferis, which in the 15th century was divided into two parts, in order to open a passage to the Church of Santa Maria del PI.
At this early hour, everything was still closed, so my attention was drawn to the numerous plaques of glazed pottery, which are remarkable examples of fine art.
Ceramic paintings illustrate the life of the street: "Enjoy the sun on Petritxol street". The street is narrow, and the houses are high, the sun almost does not look in here, do not miss the opportunity to walk in the sun.
The scene depicts a milkman milking a goat in the presence of a customer. "Herds of goats don't just soil the cobbles."
Some panels have a philosophical meaning: "The godmother says that time passes" - that is, life is not infinite, do not waste time.
Others reflect the name of establishments or tell about famous people who lived on the street.

"В этом доме жил Моратин, мы не знаем на каком этаже". Леандро Фернандес де Моратин (1760-1828), известный испанский поэт и драматург, его именем назван один из театров Барселоны.
."И больше не существует покрова, во что люди были одеты" - можно догадаться, что панно изображает выставку картин обнаженной натуры .

Это я перевёл примерно так: "Золотая стена Пи очищает свет" - возможно, в этом есть глубокий философский смысл, а может просто говорит о том, что позолота или золотистая штукатурка церкви отражает с свет в узкую темную улицу. Сейчас никакой позолоты и штукатурки на фасаде церкви Санта-Мария-дель-Пи нет.
Здесь жил Хоан Магринья и Санрома, главный танцор и хореограф театра Лисеу, расположенного на Рамбле. Панно под ним говорит о том, что на балконе стоит Анжело Гимера, каталанский поэт писатель и драматург .
Трогательная картина - "Он не чувствует слепоты, когда держит скрипку".
These panels are a collection of miniatures depicting scenes from urban life.
"In a raincoat and hat every night lamplighter Pieus." The name "Pieus" most likely indicates that the lamplighter served the Area of PI square.
Ramon Bech, a well-known Catalan journalist and writer, lived in this house.
